The past two weeks the saying "This too shall pass," was repeated in our house probably over one hundred times. Most of you know I had some pretty crazy things happen with some unresolved mastitis that became abscessed and had to be drained. Which led to a lot of pain and a visit to a breast surgeon. I thank GOD every minute that our families were so helpful throughout this process. My parents came in on Friday right after my initial procedure and took over with the kids. Mark's mom helped with Parker so I could make my follow-up visit, then Marks sister came by for moral support on Monday afternoon when I learned I was headed to the surgeon. Then mom came back in on Tuesday and went to the breast surgeon with me for support as the needle was stabbed in?!?! Then she took my kids home with her to give me a break (all but Parker of course). Then I went home this weekend to get them and they took over again so I could quit breastfeeding and between my sister and mom I didn't have to do anything with my kids. I am beyond blessed to have such a great family.
Most of this has passed, still have soreness and a small wound but I am through the roughest and look forward to have an UNEVENTFUL last week of maternity leave.
Cute burp rags curteousy of a college classmates mother...Parker spits up in style!
But is soooooo darn cute!!! She slept in her room last night for her first time. SOOOOO grown up. Granted she obviously joined us in our room at 230 for her middle of the night feed but it's much quicker now with no pumping on my part. A bottle and back to bed :)
The face below makes all of it worth while.....
My mom's family LOVES the forehead wrinkle. It reminds her of her dad, Bernard (whom I never met). Parker's got two grandpa's name and anothers wrinkly forehead....so sweet :)
Goofy angle!?!
