HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Yeah, Gweny looks terrified but with Hadley in charge I would be too, plus she's hungry...

I know I whine about her not sleeping but other than that Gweny is a really good baby. Rarely fussy except when she's hungry which is a lot but she really is just sweet as pie...

This picture was not posed but is WAY TOOOOO funny...

Busy Week

This past week was jam packed!! I had my check up last Wednesday and everything is just fine. The doctor was beyond amazed that Gweny still had her hair and of course how BIG she was!!! That night, Mark's mom offered to take the girls overnight- I warned her that she was crazy but a full nights sleep...really?!?! So Mark and I went bowling and had a blast, once I stopped worrying about the girls. I have been so couped up in my little world that I forgot how to function in public without my babies, but no worries I eventually remembered! I slept from 10pm to 8am minus a few pump breaks, but it was HEAVENLY!!! Thank God for loving, helpful family members! Thursday was a busy day too. Grandpa Goins came over for pizza night, then a big surprise was that Grandpa and Grandma Elling came in town with Mae-mae!!! Hadley was in shock and got so excited. It was such a blessing that they came. Hadley and Mae had the time of their lives, staying up late, sleeping in and playing like maniacs ALL day!! With Mom and Dad's help we got some major stuff done in our house- our garage is now functional again, the basement is organized, Mark has an art room in the basement, the back room is open (NO MORE GATE!!), and the back bedroom is ready for the Hadley transition- when I'm brave enough. All in two days, it was amazing!!! The pics are of course from the weekend...

Grandpa spoiling the girls, he is so darn good with them...

Grandma spoiling the newest grandbaby

Isn't this shirt too much? My co-worker gave it to me and Gweny's face just says it all!

Hadley's big girl room- yes those are spongebob stickers all over her walls!! The sheets are soon to be Yo Gabba Gabba or as Hadley says "gabgab."

These two entertained each other all weekend, it was amazing...

Hadley being cute...

Lastly, a preview of the matching Halloween outfits that will be posted later in the week. I just couldn't resist. This picture amazes me in that Hadley and Gweny have both gotten so big in the past month and a half. They have both adjusted to so many things, like life for Gweny and having another sibling to contend with for Hadley. I love that those are my babies and will always be babies in my eyes...

As for Gweny and sleep, we are still a work in progress. She has had a few 4-5 hour periods at night but then some night she's right back to every 3 hours or worse yet...refusing bed. I know it will get better or I'll just not remember a way of life before (one that consisted of sleep ya know?). Difficult nights are part of the package that is God's blessing...

Blessed

We are so blessed in this household. It has been a crazy week. Hadley's on going sickness finally led us to the doctor who decided to give us an antibiotic, I'm not sure if it was how sad and worn out we looked or what?!?! She has had this silly congestion and then fever, then cough that keeps her up at night. So two days in on the antibiotic and my old Hadley is returning to me?!?!!! While we were at the doctors office I snuck back and put Gweny on the scales and HOLY COW?!?!?! She is up to 11 pounds, 11 ounces (just 9lbs 13 ozs two weeks ago). She really is a GROWING GIRL! I have her at every three hours for feedings believe it or not. As far as nights go we are still learning how to go back to sleep. We have had a few four hour stretches (okay like two since last week). My loving husband finally talked me into attempting a formula feed at night with the idea of filling her little tummy and me going to bed right after Hadley...well I don't want to ruin my luck but we had a 4 1/2 hour stretch on Monday then last night she went from 1130-530...SOOOO PROUD. I was in total shock and for anyone that breastfeeds you also know I woke up in total pain but a pain that is bittersweet!! We are starting to get things undercontrol a little in this house. One blessed day at a time right!!

So here is Hadley's Halloween costume...which is said "hallllowEEEEEE" or "trik, trik,er tret" For those of you wondering, she is Foofa, a character of Yo Gabba Gabba the girls ALL time favorite show.

This is what happens when you say Yo Gabba Gabba, look at that face!!

I attempted to take pictures of the girls with all the Halloween stuff Aunt Debbie got them, however Hadley refused to sit still so this is her shot with her Hello Kitty shirt.

Gweny was easier to capture!

Hadley being sick and refusing bed time with sis who just doesn't sleep anyways!

Gweny is just too cute...

I love kids clothes. This was one of her Halloween treats, isn't it precious?

Lastly, my husband. He has been too sweet of late. Helping as much as he can with the house, meals, allowing me to have nap times. In all the whirl wind of Gweny I forgot to mention anything about our one year anniversary. A year already?! What a great year with a great man and a wonderful family. I can't wait for many more to come love!

Brief Glimpse

It's been a big week in the Goins' Household. Hadley has started to tell us, periodically when she needs to go potty. She has done two number one's and a number two, but I'm not keeping my fingers crossed, I think it was completely random. Also, we have taken Hadley's uh-oh (pacifier) away except for nap times and "nigh-night." I figured I will deal with her fussy and eventually sleepless while I am already there with Gweny, not after I finally get Gweny there.

As far as Gweny goes, we have made it to three hours between feedings in the day, it is a struggle sometimes but for a day and a half we have been there. IF ONLY she could get there at night. I have faith. She is only 5 1/2 weeks old I can't expect too much. She has gotten better at going to sleep after she eats (instead of staying awake for 1-2 hours after feeding). Luckily Hadley loves going to her sitter and I can get some rest during the day in order to be there for everyone in the evenings. Here are some of the pictures taken at mom and dad's last weekend- too cute.

Still Here

It's been a while...I feel like I never have a second to myself- oh wait I don't. We had another trip home last weekend that went well (pics of the kids together will come next!). She had her one month check up...9lbs 13oz, 23 1/4 inches tall. Basically over-eating...NO it's not normal to eat every hour on the hour and my new task is forcing her to space longer between feeds. Sounds simple, but this girl is hungry ALL the time. We both had thursh which was special but thanks to medications we are both on the upswing and feeling better. I wish I could say she's starting to figure out the sleeping thing but that would be lying. I got a four hour period on Saturday night but that was totally a fluke...argh. We are figuring it out though, I go to bed after Hadley and get in a few before the dreaded night shift begins. Here are some great pics of the day-to-day in our house. Enjoy.
