Home

It's been about six months that we've had possession of our new home. I've lived here now for three months, and it is definitely feeling like home. Slowly and surely we have been decorating. There are small things I just LOVE about this house.

Our den looks funny right now because the gorgeous Cincinnati skyline picture is hung with room for the piano. Not moved in yet, but spaced out for it...

So happy with our foyer. My MHICM co-workers got that sign, again a shout out to the great Cincinnati, and it just looks awesome on the gray paint Mark picked out...

We saw the flowers at this house from July on. Prior to that we hadn't looked twice at this house. So as far as spring, I didn't know what I would be getting. So far, not disappointed in any way. Gorgeous landscaping. Irises, flowering trees, knockout roses....LOVE IT.

A real fireplace. Finally. Unfortunately I was certain I wanted a mirror up there but Mark likes what we have. My reasoning. I will mix it up more often so let it stay :)

Goins Family Established 2008. Mom got us this sign a few years ago, who would have known the red lettering would match our already painted foyer.....awesome- meant to be :)

I Love, Love, LOVE my porch. Can't get enough of it. Hanging baskets, space to sit and watch the sunset with the hubby but have the windows cracked to hear the hooligans. Seriously. Made for us.

And who wouldn't like these creepy tree decorations. My kids are obsessed with them...

Projects

Lately I have been doing small projects around the house, trying to get our new style for our new place down :)
These are some of the various things I've gotten a chance to complete. I have about thirty others on the back burner but between long work hours, swim lessons, mark's woodshop, and visiting family and friends I honestly don't have the time I'd like. In a dream world I would be working on my handmade/ custom jewelry, have purchased my monogram machine, finished my outdoor patio table with tiling, painted my dining room chairs, finished my trim board in the den and have my piano moved into my den. Ugh. One day. Slowly but surely.

This was a key hanger at our old house. Now it's my clothes hanger in our master bath...

Good thing my husband has all the tools and creative smarts to help me finish things :)

Was dying for a mirror on the mantel. Grabbed this one at Goodwill, $7. Repainted, then upholstered it....then decided I didn't want it on my mantel and put it on the wall....

The blue fabric is throughout my living room. On the mantel, etc.

Had an old window from Gatlinburg. The girls broke the glass out so I decided to hang pictures on it from wire. Probably my favorite piece in the living room. Even though the blues look different between these two pictures it is all one color in my living room.

Attempting an herb garden. Not so certain it will work out but watering it diligently!

Lastly, stole the idea from Abbi. Rotating art work. Always a new decoration. Girls love it and so do I...plus my new bench :) Don't mind the table, we had a get together the day before this picture didn't get a chance to take downstairs!

My Husbands Wood

Yeah, I caught your attention with that title didn't I???? Anyways, my husband really never ceases to amaze me with his skills. He acquired a ton of walnut from a local friend and has gone crazy. Most of the pieces here were done in one sitting (so an evening or weekend afternoon), and they are absolutely gorgeous....

Enjoy

He said, well I saw a guy burn his pieces...thought it looked cool. Then did it. It does look cool.

This last bowl has been in our house for a long, long time. Rough and unfinished. He did it years ago and never really took out much from the middle or shined it up. Well now with his new space he has decided to clean it up. It's so gorgeous, a huge piece of bural (spelling is probably wrong but it's the part with awesome patterns in the wood!!!!). I'm sure it'll be in a a show or sold. Lord knows it will no longer be a staple in our house....

Mama's night on the town :)

After our move home I made a trip to Cincinnati without Mark and decided I needed some time out with my girls!!!!!!!!!!!! So Grandma Bebe took my kiddos and we went downtown in Cincinnati to dance our butts off. Exactly what the doctor ordered!!!

Kelly, Mandy (mark's sis), Christa, me, and Holly!!

And it gets later, less clothes, funnier faces, you know the drill!

Mandie and James loving life!!!

Yeah, that would be a huge fan and we would be on stage dancing in front of it!!

Great looking group of girlies!!

I love this girl!

Such a sweet couple. Jiptz and a bunch of ladies!

In true Xavier fashion we capped the night off with PRC gravy cheese fries. Oh me oh my, about five years since I have had the pleasure of drunk consumption of this Cincinnati treat. Man was it better than I remembered or was I just happy to be out and worry free? Not sure, either way AWESOME!

And of course, I was drunk. That would be the officer at the door. Whoops :)
