Goins Family Vacation

We packed up my parent's van (thanks soooo much) and headed to Gatlinburg on Thursday for a Goins Family Vacation. It as an adventurous weekend. Hadley was a trooper throughout everything. Handling the five hour drive with ease, sleeping well, and enjoying the shopping! She was ready for this trip, all at 13 months!!

A family shot at the fountain in the village. Becky wanted to take the picture, therefore not the whole family is in the picture & of course Hadley is distracted.

Hadley & Aunt Mandie at dinner on Friday night. Hadley tore up the spaghetti and of course flirted with the guys at the next table over, blowing kisses all through dinner.

We did an awesome black light putt putt on Saturday with Mandie and James. There were so many neat things in there. I forced Hadley to pose.

Hadley lived on the counters and couches because the cabin had tile flooring and with her moving and shaking I was nervous about her cracking her head, but don't worry she loved the one on one time.

This last shot is following a long night on the strip. She feel asleep in the three minute drive to the cabin, bless her heart.
More pictures will be coming throughout the week!!

Second Party

On her birthday we had some friends and family come by the house, and she got another chance at the cake. She didn't get crazy with this cake either, instead she ate so much icing she gagged. She was so blessed with all her presents that keep her entertained nightly. The last shot is her just taking it all in after her busy night with dinner, cake, presents, and guests!

Ta Da!

After much anticipation, here are the cake shots. These are from her first cake at the shared party with Mae. She was very danty about it all, only picking small pieces of icing off. She only got messy when I forced her to. Enjoy.

Daddy Daughter Day

I am work today, on my fifteen minute break, and Mark is home with the little one. He has switched to ten hour days and now gets Friday's with her. I love him as a dad, he couldn't stop being excited about it last night with all these things they are going to do. When I left the house this morning I tried to sneak out so everyone could sleep in, then on my way to work I got a picture from Mark of Hadley already. He woke her up so they wouldn't waste the day?!?!?! Who does that? Then he sent me a picture of her outfit (which I didn't lay out- this is HIS day). They match. Both in their baseball shirts, I almost passed out.

He has plans to take her out and about today and even wants to bring her to work if my schedule fits it so I can show her off. I really don't know how I found such a good man and how Hadley can bring out SO much good in him. I am living the dream.

LAUGHTER

So it's Friday, after a long week in our house.
I open my email to get this email from Mark's Mom.
I had to share it with everyone because he is just
so precious hahahahaha. He will kill me when word
gets out that this is up, but it's just tooo bittersweet.

His mom's email said, "note the hat, outfit and big head!!!!
Also, note the socks and bandaid on the knee!!!"

So I still feel he and Hadley are definitely twins. Enjoy.

Oh the Struggles

So Hadley is better, and this is quite a relief to say. She has pretty much been sick since last August, between the ear infections until tubes in January then all this respiratory junk since February. Well suddenly she is back and she is a trip! This girl is all about standing...anywhere as much as she can. She has decided to start attempting to get from sitting to tummy and now LOVES tummy time. It's insane the progress in moving she has made in the past week. She never ceases to amaze us. We are so lucky she is still somewhat sleepy and taking evening naps because Mark and I are under the weather and napping away the evenings now. We both have sinus infections and me an ear infection (like I'm ten again). I have TONS more sympathy for Hadley now as the ear infection is terrible, painful, and just plain annoying. To have double infections for months on end...I really can't imagine how she was so good through it all.

Mark and I have been talking about some of Hadley's little things she does that make me realize she does come from me as she looks ONLY like her father. She loves to rub her feet while she falls asleep which I have always done. She also smacks her mouth before she gets to eat something real good which my husband swears up and down I do but I am still not sure I believe him. Those are two things that I know she doesn't observe me really doing, but she just does them. That amazes me, and makes me feel so close to her.

In our nightly discussions we have also started throwing around baby names. Everytime we think we have the boy figured out we just can't decide. Our girl will be Gwenyth (Gweni) so sophisticated I think but the boy has been Rhenn, Bren, Archer, Oliver...we are everywhere on that one. I am hoping that means we are in fact having a boy so that someone can protect my baby Hadley!! But if it's a girl we are ready with Gwenyth Marie.

I plan to post her birthday cake pictures tonight as that continues to get postponed.

HADLEY'S ONE YEAR PICS

I am obviously partial to my little baby, but look at these
sweet, precious pics. She had a rough time as this was the
start of her pneumonia week but she still gave us some priceless
faces.

Hadley's Hospital Visit AGAIN

So last night was interesting. Mark and I had been dealing with Hadley under the weather both Monday and Tuesday night. Sleepless nights had us both tired. Luckily Grandma BeBe was willing to take her on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Wednesday we had our baby check up (12 weeks already). That was a nerve racking appointment for two very tired parents. Initially the doctor couldn't find a heart rate with the doppler. So as a pregnant, emotional, sleepless pregnant woman the doctor could tell that it was a very bad feeling coming about. So we headed to the ultrasound room. We gotta see our little bundle of joy again- we are so blessed. Everything is going great, but the baby's position is so that the doppler may not always pick it up. So that went well after our intital shock. Then we went to pick Hadley up from Grandma's house. She did well throughout the day until her afternoon nap then woke up a mess. So we packed up and headed home. We tried to feed her dinner and she wasn't interested and we noticed she was pretty warm. So gave her Tylenol and took her temperature to find it was 104.5 degrees. This didn't sit well with Mommy. So we packed up and headed to the ER, yes...the second time in less than thirty days?!?!?! Initially they did a sputum (snot) culture and it came back negative, ruling out flu. Her temp was up to 105...we did a chest x-ray which showed some areas, but not quite enough for the doctor to say it was pnuemonia. Her oxygen level was running at 90%. We proceeded to get an IV and give off a blood sample. Hadley was tolerant but one VERY uphappy girl. The pictures are of her with her IV, just staring at it then proceeding to bang it on anything she could find, even me. So blood work showed her white blood cell count was at 28,000 (normal 5-15,000) so clearly high with some sort of infection. They sent away blood to be cultured which takes 24-36 hours to get a result. So the doctor went ahead to treat her for the pneumonia so give her some coverage. She got an IV antibiotic and was sent home with an antibiotic. What a night. The cafeteria was closed and the vending maching didn't work and Mark and I were delirious. Then Hadley decided to not sleep really last night either, up every hour at minimum. Luckily I was able to take off today and take care of her. Then Aunt Mandie came over and saved the day letting us both take MUCH needed naps. Tonight we had a doctor's appointment where we found out Hadley's temperature was normal (YEY) and her oxygenation was at 100%!
THANK GOODNESS. She is still fussy and still a mess, but we are SO hopeful she is getting better. Thanks for everyones thoughts and prayers, she is taking it like a champion, bless her heart. Plus with Grandpa Goins spoiling her tonight and Grandma Elling coming in town to let us sleep tonight and take her tomorrow, we are so overly blessed. Here's to hoping she will be feeling better and can get out and enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather we are having!!

Hadley's B-day Party

Here are some random shots of the guests and scenes at Hadley
and Mae's Birthday Bash!
